About Therapy and Me
Systemic therapy focuses on relationships: how people relate to each other and to themselves, how ideas they have about other people and themselves influences their behaviours and what they say. Systemic therapy enables clients to find ways to act differently. It is less interested in pathology and more interested in the way in which people understand and relate to one another.
This therapeutic approach does not isolate an individual, but rather it takes account of the family as an organic whole, whatever form that family group might take. Individuals, couples and families are facilitated to make sense of their lives and difficulties in the context of their family formation and how the family functions. This approach allows me as a therapist to work with families which most other therapy modes or services do not facilitate.
