A child who has developed a secure attachment style with their parent(s) is able to regulate emotions, adjust easily when under stress, has learnt how to use coping skills effectively, self-soothe and is generally more resilient. I work with parents to help them understand the importance of their own attachment style. Knowing that their attachment style is not rigid and can be changed is reassuring for parents. This also has an impact on the well-being of the family and can bring family members closer together by developing their communication skills.
